Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description

As a Mechanical Engineer within the Lab Infrastructure team, you will design and build robotic automation systems, with a significant focus on custom End-of-Arm Tooling and intelligent automation. You will be a key contributor throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept to implementation, navigating ambiguity to solve complex engineering challenges. Your core responsibilities include translating project requirements into detailed designs, creating efficient and scalable automation solutions, performing structural analysis, reviewing designs and procuring components.

Job responsibilities

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 2 to 4 years of professional experience.
  • Hands-on design expertise in custom End of Arm tooling development and implementing robotic automation systems.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, preferably Autodesk Inventor with PDM/ PLM system and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent knowledge of design principles, Design for Manufacturing/ Assembly (DFM/DFA) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T).
  • Proactive approach to working in ambiguous situations, making decisions and driving solutions.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, external integrators and customers.

Job requirements
