Network Dev. Engineer III, ONE Core Platform

Job description

The Core Platform team owns delivering software-defined, automated, and incrementally scalable network infrastructure products that improve the reliability of our network for Amazon’s fulfillment centers and transportation sites, worldwide. These solutions are used by hundreds of thousands of associates, relied upon by operators of industry-leading fulfillment and transportation systems, and play a critical role in the delivery of shipments to Amazon retail customers.

The Network Development Engineer will leverage in-depth knowledge of network engineering and operational practices at scale to design and develop networking solutions for one of the largest networks globally.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols as well as network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
  • 8+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols; specifically, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP and ISIS in a large enterprise environment
  • 8+ years working with major network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and/or Junos
  • 3+ years experience with Unix/Linux skills and the ability to script in Python, Perl, shell
  • Master's in Computer Science, MBA, or equivalent experience
  • Expert-level certifications (e.g. CCIE, JNCIE) a plus
  • Expert-level scripting and/or automation skills in a network environment
