Revenue Accounting Analyst (ASC 606 & Contract Review)

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Accounting Analyst to join a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization. This role serves as a critical function across the front-end Order‑to‑Cash (OTC) lifecycle, acting as a key enabler of accurate, scalable, and compliant revenue operations. As a strategic partner to Contracts, Commercial Solutions, Revenue Accounting, IT, and FP&A, this role supports deal structuring, contract review, revenue-related decision-making, contract-to-system translation, and data quality ownership.

Job responsibilities

  • Review customer revenue and lease contracts to understand accounting and financial reporting implications under ASC 606 and ASC 842 and ensure compliance with corporate policies and processes.
  • Review lease contracts during the approval process to confirm appropriate lease classification in accordance with ASC 842.
  • Partner with Commercial Solutions and Contracts teams to review non‑standard deal structures and identify standard, scalable alternatives where possible.
  • Provide guidance on deal structuring options that balance commercial objectives with system capability, accounting compliance, and operational scalability.
  • Actively identify and resolve data gaps or inconsistencies between executed contracts and system setup to prevent downstream billing, revenue recognition, and reporting issues.
  • Participate in system implementation and enhancement initiatives related to quoting, contracting, and revenue automation; perform testing to validate system outputs align with contract terms.
  • Support Revenue Accounting by enabling clean handoff of validated deal data, allowing for full reliance on the revenue accounting tool without incremental manual reviews.
  • Actively identify opportunities for process improvement or operational automation in existing system infrastructure.

Job requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Deals Desk, Revenue Operations, Revenue Accounting, or Order‑to‑Cash.
  • Strong understanding of order‑to‑cash processes and the importance of front-end data accuracy for downstream revenue accounting.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition and lease accounting concepts, particularly ASC 606 and ASC 842. (Required)
  • Hands-on experience reviewing contracts.
  • Ability to interpret and summarize complex contract and financial information for cross-functional partners
  • High level of attention to detail with a strong data quality and controls mindset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Legal, Accounting, and Finance
  • Advanced Excel skills required
