RMAC Applications Engineering Lead

Job description

As the RMAC Applications Lead , you will lead the primary engineering team at the Robotic Mobile Application Center (RMAC), responsible for leading the team that drives the transition of the Atlas humanoid robot into production-level automotive manufacturing.

This is a high-impact leadership role that combines the strategic responsibilities of a Fleet Operations Robot Captain with the technical oversight of data collection curriculum design and site integration. You will manage a team of Applications Engineers to ensure the RMAC fleet remains "mission-ready" while architecting the playbooks that define how Atlas learns complex sequencing and assembly tasks.

Job requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 5–7+ years of professional experience in robotics operations, systems engineering, or field application engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of robotics systems , including software stacks, controls, and electromechanical hardware interfaces.
  • Expertise in Linux (Ubuntu) , networking telemetry, and reading/interpreting Real-Time (RT) code.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, or scripting for automating workflows and troubleshooting.
  • Mastery of JIRA for issue tracking and Tableau for data-driven monitoring.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to translate high-level R&D concepts into actionable information for executive stakeholders and daily operators.
