Robotics system engineer

Job description

We're seeking talented Robot Systems Engineers to join our team in Santa Clara, CA (on-site). You'll be the technical bridge between hardware, software, and AI—ensuring seamless integration and validation of our robotic platforms from early prototypes to production systems deployed in the real world.

Dexmate is building the foundation for physical AI — a unified platform that combines high-quality robotic hardware with a universal Physical AI OS, making robots as easy to build and deploy as software. Today, robotics is fragmented, slow, and closed: most builders are forced to reinvent the same stack again and again, and most ideas never make it past the prototype stage.

Job requirements

  • BS in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field with 5+ years of industrial experience; OR MS with 3+ years
  • 3+ years of hands-on industrial experience with robotic system integration, commissioning, and validation
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for system-level programming, automation, and data analysis
  • Deep understanding of robotic system architecture including compute, sensing, actuation, and control
  • Hands-on experience with communication protocols (CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, serial interfaces)
  • Proficient with Linux-based systems and embedded systems debugging
  • Experience with hardware bring-up and validating electromechanical systems
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills across technical disciplines
