Job responsibilities

• Own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for a product or set of products.
• Develop novel tooling solutions for the fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
• Develop process flows that break large, complex assemblies into a logical part flow of subassemblies and sub-processes.
• Own build documentation at scale (work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements), and drive DFM and DFX upstream into design.
• Partner with contract manufacturers across PCBA fabrication, metallic manufacturing, and assembly for repeatable quick-turn and at-scale processes.
• Build prototype hardware hands-on, and contribute to end-customer mechanical and electrical design, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection.
• Lead root-cause, mentor junior staff, and travel to suppliers to solve production issues.
• Operate with incomplete or still-evolving design inputs: ask the right questions, work from first principles, and create structure where none yet exists.

Job requirements

• 8+ years in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace.
• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated team leadership (in-kind or direct), with backing examples.
• Proficiency in CAD and production-planning tools such as ERP and MES, plus deep DFM, tooling, and NPI ownership, taking a product or line from development to rate.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Hands-on experience with R/C or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or related control systems.
• Experience with automation and robotics.
• Knowledge of composites and advanced manufacturing.
