Senior Systems Engineer - Technical Program Lead

As part of a hardworking team of varied specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will participate in the development, design, test, and manufacturing of Honeybee Robotics’ Motion Control products.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

Job responsibilities

Architect closed-loop control systems incorporating motors, sensors, structures, and drive electronics
Lead program-level requirements development, decomposition, and traceability
Identify and drive resolution of technical risks and issues across the program lifecycle
Present technical content to customers and internal stakeholders
Provide guidance and support on test requirements and associated verification methods
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and test teams to ensure design-for-manufacturability and program success

Job requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited technical college or university in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and 8+ years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated experience delivering functional hardware on schedule
Experience developing and executing verification and validation (V&V) plans, including test procedures and acceptance criteria
Experience with requirements management tools (JAMA)
12+ years of relevant work experience
Experience designing motion control and electromechanical systems for space environments
Demonstrated experience leading technical teams in product development efforts
In-depth understanding of motors, gearing, feedback & commutation sensors, and motion control methodologies
