Software Engineer - Build and Release.

Job description

This role reports to the DV5 Software Release Manager and works collaboratively with a cross-functional team to implement software and processes for build and release, continuous integration, and developer productivity.

The engineer should be an independent and fast-paced developer with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of producing robust, high-quality code in the face of rapidly changing requirements.

The engineer should be comfortable writing code in Python, managing branches with Git, and supporting large, complex projects to support software development goals.

Job responsibilities

Drive new build and release initiatives, including improvements to continuous integration, developer productivity, and code quality.
Develop and maintain custom Git workflows for a large, highly dynamic repository.
Work closely with Software Managers, Developers and Test Engineers to maintain software release cadence, traceability, and quality.
Support software release activities, including documentation and impact analyses.

Job requirements

Experience in software development with Python, Java, Groovy or C/C++ required
Experience troubleshooting complex systems required
Great communication and analytical skills required
Hands on experience with Linux required
Experience with software build and release processes is a plus
Experience working with embedded and/or electromechanical systems is a plus
Experience with Git, Docker, Bazel, Jenkins, Elasticsearch, or Ansible is a plus
Experience developing C/C++ on a variety of embedded platforms is a plus
