Structures Engineer, Aerospace & Defense (All Levels)

Structures Engineer will be responsible for the product development through entire product life cycle, from program kick-off to start of production.
Job responsibilities
- Create and manage CAD designs of the components, as well as the BOM structure.
- Build up and analyze FE Models of Node™-based vehicle structures applications including validation using hand calculations and optimization.
- Present design summary/reports efficiently at meetings and to other relevant engineers or external parties.
- Create, refine, and execute new technical solutions for automotive structures to support external customer programs and joint development efforts.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment within the DAPS Product Engineering team and cross-functionally with other disciplines to efficiently design and release structures that are optimized for mass, efficient…
- Work cross-functionally to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and support prototype and production build activities.
- Maintain technical documentation, including best practices and lesson learned.
- Support vehicle builds and product development testing and troubleshooting.
Job requirements
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in structure design.
- CAD experience creating detailed models. Siemens NX is a plus.
- PLM experience. Teamcenter is a plus.
- Experience in structural analysis.
- Experience in analysis software packages such as Nastran, Optistruct, and/or LS-Dyna.
- Solid understanding of linear/nonlinear behaviors of advanced materials (composites, adhesives, metals) to achieve lightweight structural solutions.
