Grok Bot and Muse ship persistent agent computers
xAI and Meta both gave their agents a cloud computer that stays on. Forkast says the security models are not the same.
Grok Bot and Meta’s Muse both shipped a persistent cloud computer for an AI agent, Forkast reported. Grok Bot entered beta on August 11. Muse launched on September 8. Each gives the agent a browser, a filesystem, and a terminal that remain available between sessions.
The setups are not locked the same way. Forkast said Grok Bot keeps one environment per account, and the bots on that account share it. xAI’s own notes treat each bot screen as a separate work surface, not a separate security boundary.
Muse, in that account, uses an isolated Linux virtual machine for each user. A host-side agent called Sentinel is the only thing allowed to approve connector actions and network traffic leaving the machine.
Forkast’s point is that the category is now the same — a virtual machine that stays up for the agent — and the real difference is who is allowed to act outside it.
