GXO takes Agility’s Digit to two more warehouses
After two years in Georgia, the logistics giant will add Digit humanoids in North Carolina and Tennessee starting in early 2027. Agility also named three unnamed manufacturers in paid programs.
GXO, the contract logistics company that put Agility Robotics’ Digit to work in a Georgia facility in June 2024, is expanding to two more U.S. sites: Statesville, North Carolina, and Lebanon, Tennessee. Agility announced the news on October 26. Work is expected to start in early 2027 on the current Digit 4, with a switch to Digit 5 once the new model is commercially available.
The Georgia site is the proof point. Agility says Digit has moved more than 100,000 totes there under a multi-year agreement it calls the first formal commercial deployment of a humanoid in live operations. Going from one building to three is the pattern Agility says it wants with every customer: prove the robot in one place, then spread across the customer’s network.
Agility also said three more manufacturers have joined paid programs: a global automaker that sells more than three million vehicles a year, a large automotive parts and technology supplier, and a consumer products maker. None agreed to be named. They join AGCO, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, Schaeffler and Mercado Libre on the customer list, plus a pipeline of more than 30 prospects, including two early-stage defense subcontracting talks with no signed deals.
Context matters on the bigger numbers. The more than $300 million in Digit 5 orders Agility cites is potential multi-year value tied to milestones, not current revenue. Digit 5 early access is planned for the first half of 2027, with general availability targeted for the end of that year. Agility is also heading toward a Nasdaq listing as AGLT through its merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
