Muse joins a short list: 10 million US downloads in 40 days
Sensor Tower data puts Meta’s Muse at 10.2 million US downloads in its first 40 days, a mark only 11 other apps have hit, with stronger retention than rival AI apps.
Meta’s Muse logged 10.9 million downloads in its first 40 days, 10.2 million of them in the US, according to Sensor Tower data reported by TechCrunch. Only 11 other apps have reached 10 million US downloads that fast, most of them games; Threads and Disney+ are the only other non-game apps on the list.
Meta is pushing hard: Sensor Tower says Muse took 39% of Meta’s ad spend in October, up from 23% in September. Retention is also ahead of rivals, at 30% after seven days and 23% after 14 days in the US, against averages of 19% and 16% for ChatGPT, Claude and Grok. Daily active users hit 2.5 million for the first time on October 16.
For comparison, ChatGPT had 3.7 million US downloads in its first 40 days, Grok 500,000 and Claude 200,000. Muse is only available in the US and Canada for now.
