Seyond brings production lidar to IROS for robots leaving the warehouse
The Sunnyvale company is showing the Hummingbird D1R at booth 928, a compact lidar meant for robots that have to work in tight, human spaces.
Seyond is using IROS 2026 to show lidar it already sells, not a lab prototype. The Sunnyvale company said robots are moving out of controlled warehouses and into places where people live and work, and those machines need production 3D sensing.
The robotics unit it is highlighting, the Hummingbird D1R, is a compact sensor with a 140 by 100 degree field of view and close-range detection. Seyond said that shape is meant for platforms that need a wide view but have little room to mount a sensor.
The company is demonstrating the portfolio at booth 928, covering industrial automation, autonomous material handling, and robots that operate next to people. IROS workshops are underway in Pittsburgh this weekend, with the exhibit hall opening September 28.
