Watney raises $80 million for data center robots
The startup says its dexterous robots already run around the clock in U.S. data centers for some of the largest hyperscalers.
Watney has raised an $80 million Series A, co-led by the Valor Atreides AI Fund and Hummingbird Ventures, with Conviction, Abstract, A* and Grant Gordon also returning. The company said the round brings its total funding to more than $100 million.
Watney builds robots for work inside data centers. It has served some of the world’s largest hyperscalers since 2025, using an end-to-end deployment model meant to help them bring compute online faster.
The company says its systems have logged hundreds of thousands of hours in customer facilities with better than four nines of reliability, and that it runs the largest fleet of dexterous robots operating 24/7/365 in the United States. Watney is hiring across all teams.
