Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician (Union)
Job description
In this role, you will support high-profile projects and customer sites by delivering reliable, integrated building management solutions that enhance operational efficiency, occupant comfort, energy performance, and system reliability. You will work with a variety of building systems, including HVAC controls, lighting controls, energy management, alarming, trending, and third-party system integrations in commercial facilities such as high-rise office buildings, healthcare campuses, educational institutions, and other mission-critical environments.

Job responsibilities
- Design, configure, program, and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Develop system databases, map points, and configure front‑end workstations and graphics
- Interpret and implement sequences of operation
- Commission and start up HVAC control systems
- Work with industry protocols including BACnet, LonWorks, and Modbus (HTML/Java experience a plus)
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and control drawings
- Collaborate with internal project teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project execution
Job requirements
- 3+ years of experience in building automation or controls industry
- 1+ year experience working with DDC controls, BAS architecture, and system networking
- If not already a member, must be willing to join Union Local 3
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Honeywell
