We are looking for a motivated summer intern working on advanced mechatronics systems in the Metrology division within KLA.

Job responsibilities

  • Collaborate and work with design engineers to design advanced metrology systems.
  • Work independently on data collection, analysis, and managing projects.
  • Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather the necessary data in the lab or the cleanroom.
  • Present the technical analysis in both verbal and written format and presentations to the team.
  • Work in specified timelines and milestones.
  • Willingness to take on responsibility and ability to quickly ramp from the existing documentation and on-job training.
  • Identify any gaps and propose solutions in the implementation.
  • Ability to modify tuning algorithms, design and update machine learning algorithms.

Job requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. OR Master's Level Degree with a minimum of 3.5 GPA.
  • A Master's degree is preferred in electrical, robotics, control systems, mechanical engineering, data science or related field.
  • Hands-on experience in the lab is preferred.
  • Experience in any one of the following areas: System Dynamics and Identification, Signal processing, Predictive Maintenance, Modeling of mechanical systems.
  • Experience in the validation of hardware systems.
  • Knowledge of Matlab for data analysis and control development.
  • Knowledge of building GUIs in Matlab.
