Job responsibilities

• Develop vision, strategy, and implementation for complying with a range of regulations - this includes interpreting legacy legal and regulatory frameworks that didn’t contemplate our novel technology and advising on…
• Advise on matters primarily U.S. federal matters, with an emphasis on areas of greatest need (e.g. legislative review and drafting of proposed legislation and regulations).
• Engage in cross-functional planning efforts to ensure that regulatory compliance and strategy are properly incorporated into the project roadmap.
• Respond to novel questions of law on various topics, including issues that may be new to you and/or the company.
• Provide counsel on proposed legislation and regulations and in negotiations among stakeholders. Collaborate with our Policy team on advocacy strategies for engaging with regulators and policymakers.

Job requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and an active bar membership
• 5+ years of experience as an attorney at a firm, in-house at a company, or in government.
• Experience with regulatory and legislative matters (e.g. engaging in rulemaking processes, advising on legislative bill text, building regulatory compliance programs for a rapidly scaling company with a range of…
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt as the technology and regulatory landscape evolves.
• Exceptional written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with and ingest input from cross-functional partners.
• Experience generating nuanced and pragmatic advice for novel or ambiguous legal issues.
• Experience as a self-starter and getting things done.
