Job description

Job responsibilities

• Assemble a variety of products according to standard work instructions and prints.
• Operate and set up (as needed) production equipment/fixtures.
• Become proficient at multiple assembly tasks while meeting requirements for workmanship, safety, and productivity.
• Perform preparation work such as line clearance, setting up production boards, and setting up goals for each workstation.
• Crosstrain or mentor others in areas of expertise (as needed).
• Properly complete manufacturing documentation. Initiate basic material requests, report quality issues, report efficiency, and record measurements as needed. May report work order information into the computer.
• Maintain the accuracy of identification and count of point-of-use materials. Accurately determine and report material shortages.
• Work closely with Engineering and Quality to resolve production issues and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Job requirements

• Effective use of troubleshooting and measurement equipment like oscilloscopes, multi-meters, function generators, and custom test platforms
• Understand wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, fab drawings, and mechanical component drawings
• Document findings of investigation in quality notifications, which are part of official Device History Records.
• Electronic and Mechanical assembly skills (Examples: soldering, crimping, box build, fiber handling, optical component handling, cable routing, use of RTV/epoxy)
• Working knowledge of computers, word processing, and spreadsheet applications for documentation and data presentation.
• Ability to read/modify test scripts
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of technologies that allow effective troubleshooting. Examples: Digital and Analog Electronics components, optical components, servo components, machined parts, sheet…
• Good communication skills to be able to partner effectively with production techs, supervisors, training department, as well as Mfg./Design/Test Engineers.
