Job description
Our Prime Air Drone Vehicle Design and Test team within Flight Sciences is looking for a Vehicle Configuration Design Engineer to help us rapidly configure, design, analyze, prototype, and test innovative drone vehicles. You’ll be responsible for designing conceptual level vehicle configurations and layouts that integrate all subsystems and meet vehicle level requirements. You'll model internal subsystems, major structural elements, and the OML of the vehicle. Your designs will feed into our suite of multi-disciplinary optimization (MDO) tools to help size the vehicle and mature the design.

Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in air or space vehicle configuration design and integration
- Vehicle level design intuition and ability to operate & analyze at the system-of-systems level
- Proficient in CATIA/3DX
- Proficient in surfacing/lofting
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field
- Specialization in one or more of the following domains of aircraft design: aerodynamics, performance, stability & control, propulsion, loads, airframe structures
- Wind tunnel testing experience
