Senior Reliability Test Engineer – Software Focus

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Reliability Test Engineer to be in charge of designing and executing test plans for our humanoid robots to ensure that they are meeting our lifetime reliability targets. We are looking for someone with a strong test software engineering background who is able to work with reliability and design engineers to design and build reliability test infrastructures to autonomously execute component and system level reliability tests ranging from actuators to batteries to full robots.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement advanced hardware product test setups tailored to meet critical data acquisition and electrical performance requirements for hardware instruments/devices under test (DUTs).
  • Design and write automation software, including instrument drivers (e.g., for power supplies), to enable parallel testing over extended durations using languages and tools such as python.
  • Own the calibration and reliability test platforms (gauge R&R), as well as communicate test results with cross functional team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather test requirements and develop clear, actionable test plans.
  • Work alongside with reliability engineers to develop and execute hardware accelerated life reliability tests spec for actuators, batteries, structures, bushings, wirings, sensors and complete system
  • Support failure analysis efforts on reliability test failures
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware test engineering with focus on software
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in automation of hardware test setups, data acquisition systems, and data visualization methods for mass production products.
  • Proficient in general electrical debugging experience (power supplies, oscilloscope, DMM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of standard instrument interface protocols (CAN, ETH, Serial) and experience using these interfaces in automation.
  • Experience working with test equipment suppliers to spec and build test setups.
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Create schematics and layout for basic PCB interfaces
  • Experience with designing and executing test plans for mobile robots
  • Experience with electric motors, gearboxes, or actuators
  • Experience with batteries or battery powered system
Salary:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $150,000 – $225,000 annually.

The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
