Adcock stated, “Today, I made the decision to leave our Collaboration Agreement with OpenAI.” He emphasized that Figure has achieved a major breakthrough in developing fully end-to-end robot AI, built entirely in-house. “We’re excited to show you in the next 30 days something no one has ever seen on a humanoid,” he added, generating buzz within the tech community.
The partnership with OpenAI, which was announced last February, allowed Figure to utilize OpenAI’s models for enhancing conversational abilities and reasoning in their robots. However, Adcock’s announcement indicates a strategic shift towards leveraging the company’s own tech advancements.
