Groq, a Silicon Valley AI pioneer, has received a $1.5 billion commitment from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to enhance its advanced LPU-based AI inference infrastructure. This agreement, announced at LEAP 2025, positions the KSA as a leader in global AI computing infrastructure and addresses the region’s increasing demand for AI capabilities.
The commitment follows Groq’s successful establishment in December 2024 of the largest inference cluster in the region, built in just eight days to serve the growing global compute demand. From its state-of-the-art data center in Dammam, Groq is now providing top-tier AI inference solutions worldwide through GroqCloudâ„¢.
At LEAP 2025, Groq CEO Jonathan Ross, alongside Tareq Almin and Ahmad O. Al-Khowaiter from Saudi Aramco, showcased live demos of reasoning LLMs, the locally developed Allam model, and text-to-speech models in English and Arabic.
This $1.5 billion investment marks a significant step toward achieving Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goal of creating an AI-powered economy. “It’s an honor for Groq to support the Kingdom’s 2030 vision,” said Ross. “We look forward to collaborating with Saudi innovators to advance the future of AI.”
