Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, Sr.

Job description

The Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Specialist will partner with EHS team members, production leaders and cross-functional team leaders to improve workplace performance by assessing work environments, systems, processes, and procedures. This role works with other specialists and leaders in conducting tests and measuring hazards to help prevent harm to workers, property, the environment and the general public. In this role, one inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations. The Sr.

Job requirements

  • Current certification in DOT, Cal OSHA 30hour, Hazard Waste Management is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in ergonomics, ISO 14001 and 45001, DOT regulations, laser compliance, emergency management
  • Demonstrates effective project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates competency in handling multiple priorities and use sound judgment
  • Strong leadership skills are required to ensure progress and compliance with EHS programs in areas where this role does not directly report.
  • Well organized – able to track/follow-up on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously to ensure it is executed in a timely manner
  • Focuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where teams share a broad variety of duties
