Job description

Fauna Robotics is building capable, safe, and delightful robots for everyday life. We are hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to build cloud services that keep the fleet humming. In this role, you will build the cloud foundation and applications that connect robots to customer experiences and internal operations as we scale.

The ideal candidate has built distributed systems that connect physical devices to cloud services end to end. They are comfortable building and operating the services they own from prototyping through launch and beyond. They make sound architectural tradeoffs across privacy, security, reliability, delivery speed, and cost when requirements are still evolving.

Job requirements

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience working in a cloud based development and production environment such as AWS
Experience owning a service end to end: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and incident response
Experience building backends for physical devices, where clients drop off the network and return with stale state.
