Sr Software Engineer- Simulation, Fauna

Job description

Fauna uses simulation to train robots, evaluate their behavior, and develop new capabilities before deploying them in the real world. We’re looking for a Simulation Software Engineer to build the environments, tools, and systems that make this possible—from generating diverse virtual worlds to testing robot behavior and running simulation at scale.

You’ll partner with scientists, robotics engineers, and technical artists to expand what robots can experience in simulation and what our teams can build with it. Your work could span procedural scene generation, automated evaluation, interactive experiences, and remotely hosted simulation.

Job requirements

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience developing robotics software, simulation systems, real-time applications, or scalable data pipelines.
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Experience with robotics simulation frameworks or real-time 3D engines, such as Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, MuJoCo, Unreal Engine, or Unity.
